2008-01-31 04:24:00 | hey thanks for your help wratterus...I tried what you said and took the ram out and didn't hear jack......f*** it! | demoncleaner (11425) | |
2008-01-31 04:29:00 | NO worries ;). Ok...next thing is you need to try another PSU, or test your current one. You need a proper PSU tester to do that, or take it to a tech. Do you know how to reset the BIOS in a PC?

2008-01-31 04:41:00 | I don't have or have access to a PSU tester so I'll leave that to a techie. As for re-setting the BIOS, I've had a quick look on google and I think I'd be OK with re-setting it. You think I should give it a go and reset it??? | demoncleaner (11425) | |
2008-01-31 04:44:00 | Be careful with it lol... I don't think your motherboard had a reset jumper. So...unplug the power supply from the wall. Pull out the battery on the motherboard (bottom left) and hold the power button on the PC down for 5 or 10 secs, to drain all the power out of the board. Leave it 15 mins. Then put the battery back in, and start her up. Let us know what happens. Its probably your motherboard...if the PSU had failed properly you'd know about it.

NO, you are getting in over your head buddy, either find a good friend with test equipment or spares, or..........be prepared to visit a techie, though I would say from the sound of it, its your motherboard, even i failing psu will send a signal at start up....is there a burnt smell from the psu? |

2008-01-31 05:45:00 | lol its all good mate.. no I don't recall any burning smell. I'll be honest in saying there was ALOT of dust inside the comp including the psu vents and a heap inside the main big fan on top of the cpu, I'm thinking thats not good... I re-set the bios anyway but I'm still getting no signal to the monitor :annoyed:
