637083 2008-02-03 12:37:00 My upgrade to Opera v 9.25 has gone horribly wrong and I have now ended up with something called "Opera for 8-bit computers" and IE doesn't work either.
Have tried unistalling/reinstalling both 9.01 and 9.25 but no good. I have winxp sp2 and everything else is working ok, please mail any solutions as it is almost impossible to navigate in an 8-bit page.

637084 2008-02-03 17:11:00 This may help for Opera (www.opera.com). Try changing it back to "Author" mode. If that was the cause of the 8-bit mode in Opera, it shouldn't have affected IE. What happens when you try and use IE? Any error messages?

If the above doesn't fix Opera, then consider using System Restore to roll your computer back just prior to when things went wrong.

637085 2008-02-03 20:05:00 Somehow or other you may have enabled "User CSS" mode and selected the 'Nostalgia' user stylesheet which simulates an 8-bit version.

In Opera go to View > Style and and either untick the "Nostalgia" stylesheet or choose "Author mode".

Phew! Thanks folks, working OK now. I was in author mode but hadn't noticed style was set on nostalgia (who would want THAT?). Still getting "page cannot be displayed" with IE but who cares?

Or not clicking Allow in time or just pressing Deny everytime a pop-up comes up.
