311600 2005-01-07 07:29:00 Well I've got my computer rebuilt and strange to say it actually and surprisingly works. :nerd:
I've got, against my previous statements an Athlon 64 3200+ in an Asus M/B. So far It's running well and only slightly warmer than the P4. It seems to have settled on a figure between 32 and 35 degrees.

I now have for sale an HP Pavillion. A P4 2.8 Barely a month out of the shop.
If anyone's interested send me an e-mail and I'll give you full specs.
Jack

It's a Pavillion t640a. Propriety Asus m/b with a P4 2.8 cpu. 512 megs of 400 ram .
Has XP preloaded. No disk. Back up is in a separate partition on HD.
About 6 USB connectors, Lan, Fire wire, Card reader. 8 x DVD R R/W.
Cheap Nvidia 64 megs graphics.
Had an internal modem which I can refit or instead a choice of 4 external modems.
If interested go to WWW.Hp.co.NZ and enter t640a in the search box. Plenty of info there.
No longer have the instruction book. It got thrown out with original packageing.
New price last month was $1496

Crikey that's no good! What's someone going to do if they need to swap the CPU or something? They might put too much thermal grease on and bend the pins.
