637406 2008-02-05 12:51:00 Sure looks like you do need a new keyboard, the x and s keys seem to be sticking a wee bit ;)

I use my LCD screen a lot in games, can tell you stats, health, ammo etc, can show you system usage (CPU, RAM etc) and even the temps, so really depends if you want that information.

the s ansd x xcome in when i press sd ansd xc:lol:

yeah i might look into the lxcds ones then

I bought a Saitek Eclipse from Harvey Norman a while back for $50.00.
I find it feels cheap compared to my normal Logitech and the "E" key is smudging. The keys have a long travel which took a while to get used to.
I find a backlit board so handy, but I'd really like a backlit board that's as nice to use as a good regular one.

the xcurrent $15 trasdeme one i've got now was fine till it starteds breaking... brother got the same ansd it's never given any problems

but at $50 i might have a look at harvey norman later this week

637408 2008-02-05 14:16:00 I have an ordinary keyboard - basic.
And my previous one was similar (It just didn't like white wine spilt on it)

But prices of $50 & $100 are being thrown around in this thread.
So for those of us who like to know how the flash people live - what is a "backlit" keyboard?

(Links to websites with explanations are acceptable, rather than attempts at originality)

637409 2008-02-05 20:09:00 I didn't know Harvey Norman sells them. Have you considered trying the Eclipse II?

I got mine at the Mt Wellington store, probably 6~8 months back. They were on special then, down from $99.99 to $49.98.
I haven't seen them that cheap again anywhere.
I haven't seen the Eclipse II (except in the previous link).

So for those of us who like to know how the flash people live - what is a "backlit" keyboard? Look at the two links of mine above, basically they are keyboards where there are lights behind the keys so you can see the keys in the dark.

Hi Laura, check The End Of Reality's post earlier in the thread. He has links to the Saitek site that shows the keyboards.
I find a backlit keyboard really handy as the PC is in the same room as my son's XBox/TV - and as all parents know, you can only really play XBox at night if the room light is off! So as I'm not a touch typist (or any sort of typist), having the lit keyboard keeps everybody happy.
