636931 2008-02-04 05:04:00 Can we go back to the basis of this thread i need some recomendations on what kind of application i could use to overclock. AMD3ALL3THE3WAY3 (116)
636932 2008-02-04 06:29:00 OP, you may need to disable 'cool n quite' is order to enable FSB overclocking on that board, just checking the manual, have you read it, Im pretty sure ASUS has its own clocking software! SolMiester (139)
636933 2008-02-04 06:35:00 The board was SL-85DRV3 if you want to check. I looked it up and saw that people had no luck trying to overclock that board.

Here you go

As I said, MOST motherboards allow clocking of the FSB, they needed to in order to support multiple cpu with different SKU's....

636934 2008-02-04 07:05:00 okay if you've come to help me with my need for speed 2 problems your out of luck, instead i need some reco's for what overclocking app i should use because my mobo bio doesnt allow for fsb changing (but u can change the multiplier 4 sum reason???) i would also like them to be free, thanks

You havent even bothered to read the manual have you!!

Page 8 of the introduction stipulates

"Stepless Frequency Selection (SFS) allows FSB tuning
from 200 MHz to 230 MHz at 1 MHz increment"

C.P.R. (CPU Parameter Recall)
The C.P.R. feature of the motherboard BIOS allows automatic re-setting to the
BIOS default settings in case the system hangs due to overclocking. When the
system hangs due to overclocking, C.P.R. eliminates the need to open the system
chassis and clear the RTC data. Simply shut down and reboot the system, and the
BIOS automatically restores the CPU default setting for each parameter.

Come on newbie, RTFM!

Actually, you said:

ALL motherboards can increase FSB,
