2005-01-11 06:11:00 | I used to have about 20 identical 333Mhz Compaq ones with 3GB hard drives and 128MB Ram lying around... They were quite nice and SMALL. But slimline CD-ROM (bad).

2005-01-12 01:19:00 | I still have two left - they can even run XP, but I use them as test servers and backup servers (for when I'm doing a BIG job on the main one, I can have a friendly downtime message) | george12 (7) | |
2005-01-12 02:31:00 | I put my head in there this afternoon. They are all the small slimline without CD drives. The monitors with them are all S710s or 720s. They will probably go very cheaply. There are some odd lots of boxes and one of them,a Deskpro DPENS had a CD drive. It is possible to jury rig a normal CD drive by bringing out an IDE and power cable through the hole where the CD blanking plate is.

(Not unless you are a permanently registered dealer). You have to register for a buyers number before you can place an absentee bid. Neither do they deliver. All goods have to be paid for on the day of the sale, and taken away by 4pm the following day. Anyway the golden rule is never to bid on an unseen, untested item. It may not work, or not work properly, the screen may be shot, fuzzy and burnt etc. and there is no come-back. |

2005-01-12 23:22:00 | Mind you, there may be great scope for George to grab the lot, fill a truck, and take it down to Southland and have a great car boot sale  | Terry Porritt (14) | |
2005-01-12 23:33:00 | Yeah .... I'll probably buy a slightly more modest amount - around 5 systems and 7 screen s I think this time. But I'm in a situation with TradeMe. I used to sell around 3 new systems per week on it, but suddenly they have withdrawn 7 auctions, 3 that had sold and the success fee been paid. This meant of course I couldn't see the contact details anymore, and the buyers all got an e-mail saying the auction had been withdrawn and don't go ahead with the sale. Lost around $140 in success fees out of that. I e-mailed them as to why, and why not refund success fees, (2 weeks ago) and still no response. So our trademe account is $90 in debt now... Don't know whether to top it up or not :(. Evil scamme. Sometimes drb1 I see your side. So I don't wanna sell on TradeMe as that will reduce the profit by $90... Trade and exchange I guess...
