| 637442 | 2008-02-04 22:29:00 | Ok so my computer was going a bit nuts so i decided to a nice fresh reinstall! So i put the xp cd in my dvd drive and started to fomat my drive, when it started to copy files onto my computer, some files could not be copied, it said push enter to retry copying or press ESC to skip the file, i gaveup. soon later i turned on my PC again and it said NTLDR is missing, press cntrl alt del to restart,! what do i do????? Someone please helpppp!!!! and also normally when my computer first turns on, i can press F2 or F8 to boot a device or go to bio setup, i press it but it doesnt do anything, it just goes to the NTLDR files missing thing, someone please help because i dont really want to my another motherboard! |

| 637443 | 2008-02-04 22:40:00 | Welcome to PressF1! :) It sounds as if you have a hardware issue, possible a dodgy Hard Drive or Optical drive, or a scratched CD. What problems were you having before? What type of format did you do, quick or full? To fix the ntldr issue...assuming thats the only problem, go here (tinyempire.com)...download the .iso, burn it to a cd using imgburn (http://www.imgburn.com/), follow the instructions on the webpage. |

| 637444 | 2008-02-04 22:42:00 | I'm guessing you did a quick reformat of your partition? I'd suggest a full reformat - sounds like your MBR may be dodgy. Check out icrontic.com for some good tips. Don't always work, but they're a good place to start. |

| 637446 | 2008-02-04 23:01:00 | From my experience, the problem you are having with errors reading files from the disc, are usually caused by faulty RAM. Go to www.memtest.org and download it and run on it on your machine for a few hours. |
