637024 2008-02-03 08:48:00 Can anyone give an explanation as why the majority of files in My Documents, but not all, have decided to show in a blue font. And how can this be reversed to a black font?

637025 2008-02-03 08:56:00 Welcome to PressF1.

Are you using XP or Vista? The blue colour font of the file name indicates that it has been compressed to save space. Did you run Disk Cleanup recently? One of the options in that is to compressed old files to save space.

Nothing to worry about. You can untick "compress drive to save disk space" in your drive peoperties if you want.

637028 2008-02-03 11:08:00 Just to add a bit more information: blue coloured filenames are compressed NTFS files, and they can also be encrypted NTFS files. feersumendjinn (64)
