| 636991 | 2008-02-05 04:43:00 | i recken microsoft needs to clean up their act, although they are finaly going to release sp1, it's mainly bug fixes (proves how much bugs there were in it at first place) whats up with that? Oh well i guess all companies have their bad sides. | AMD3ALL3THE3WAY3 (116) | ||
| 636992 | 2008-02-05 04:54:00 | The delay is good in one way - as per the article speedy supplied Our beta testing identified an issue with a small set of device drivers," said Nash. "These drivers do not follow our guidelines for driver installation and as a result, some beta participants who were using Windows Vista and updated to Service Pack 1 reported issues with these devices." This is saying they discovered a problem and will not put out the software knowingly to cause a problem on some PC's. If you go on to read the article, it also says The problem is serious enough that users whose PCs have installed the drivers will not be offered SP1 through Windows Update. Meaning the SP1 Update will not be forced upon peoples who's PC's will be affected. |

| 636994 | 2008-02-05 09:56:00 | You mean one big company? Or just any company? Wainuitech has a company. He seems pretty on to it... does he need to clean up his act? But if you mean corporations then you're right. Or you're wrong if you look at it from a shareholders pov. meh. Mind you, outsourcing however million squillion lines of code to india was sure to create problems from the beginning. India may be cheap, but cheap comes at a price :) | Thebananamonkey (7741) | ||
| 636995 | 2008-02-05 10:03:00 | Diverting the conversation a little - early this morning, after doing a little searching, I managed to download Vista SP1 RTM from winvistaforums.com It was 400 meg roughly, not the 65 meg version discussed in other forums. I'm fairly certain this copy is legitimate RTM as my Vista version is now listed as Vista with service pack one without any version number after it (as occured with various beta rc versions). Additionally I've done all the usual virus, spyware checks etc and it comes up clean. Interesting I tried the link again tonight and it seems to have been taken down. Maybe micro$oft had something to do with this given they intend to embargo SP1 till March sometime. |
