| 638097 | 2008-02-06 22:07:00 | I sold my pc to someone a few days ago which has Windows installed on it. They are trying to install Ihug broadband but it is telling them there is "missing text" and need to install the Windows CD. I never had one and was never asked to do this. Can anyone help? It is wrong to sell a PC without the Windows installation CD? |

You can sell a PC without a Windows CD as long as there is a COA sticker on the PC case somewhere that has the product key on it. If it is a brand-name PC like HP/Compaq then you probably didn't get a windows CD anyway. Get the person to do a search on the hard drive for a folder called i386. That is the folder that has all the Windows setup files if they are needed. |
