637806 2008-02-06 03:13:00 Hi, I know that limited software support.

With 64bit I think my printer and scanner is compatible. That aside, are their special 64bit Photoshop and MS Office or will my std 32bit versions work fine with them?

What about games, not a huge fan but the occasional timer.
Other than that I don't use any other software really other than WinZiP, Nero, MSN, Skype and some Nikon software and Adobe Lightroom. AVG and Spybot and CCleaner and things like that.

Thanks.

637807 2008-02-06 03:30:00 Running vista 64bit and have no problems with 32bit versions of programs. Only 64bit app I am using is 7zip. Have not noticed any performance issues with the likes of office 2003 or any of my media / video apps. Cannot comment on photoshop.

Only games I have tried are Crysis and COD4 and no problems.

Only one app does not work properly and that's winmx, but that is only due to IE7 issues.

637809 2008-02-06 08:45:00 There are plenty of linux 64bit OS's available - and 64bit linux apps to go with it if you're keen to experiment.
I use Ubuntu64 and Photoshop7 (32bit) via CrossOver with no problems.

Thanks.

Just installed World of Warcraft via crossover onto my Ubuntu64 Phenom Quadcore - took a bit of messing around and cant quite get it to recognise the dual screens properly but it runs ok on one.
