| 637795 | 2008-02-05 21:18:00 | Hi All, Damned annoying this. I've added some other users on my Vista machine, and when using the 'switch user' feature, the processor rams up to 100% and stays there. Obviously, the machine then runs like a three legged dog. I've been through the Task Manager, and nothing seems to be using much memory - IE7 using about 50Mb, SVCHOST.EXE using 100Mb under SYSTEM user. Nothing else remarkable. As soon as the other user is properly logged out, the machine returns to normality. There is no process running under any of the other users that explains it, these are brand new users with nothing added to their logins. I have a 2Ghz dual core processor (Core 2 Duo E4400) with 1279 Mb RAM. Any Ideas Guys? I wanted to pick up SP1 RC1 but can't find it now, and the release date is sometime in March, if we're lucky. Cheers Shane |

| 637797 | 2008-02-06 04:04:00 | Thanks for that - I searched all over the microsoft knowledgebase but didnt find that. It seems to have helped, the processors are normal now with two people logged in. I also uninstalled a program called PowerISO which loaded at boot time, so I'm not sure if that was making things worse. Still, happy processors, so it's all good. thanks a lot. :D |
