| 637730 | 2008-02-05 10:43:00 | I've just put Ubuntu 7.10 on my Compaq nx7010 laptop. It's a Pentium M 1.6GHz with 512MB RAM. It has a Radeon Mobility 9200 Pro 64MB graphics card. Usually when I install Ubuntu on a computer with an ATI card it will offer to switch to the 'restricted' drivers (fglrx). This time, it hasn't mentioned this as an option. Obviously I can install it manually, but should I? I get around 1660 fps in glxgears (about right I think), but moving windows around etc performs poorly. It's just running the "ati" driver right now. What should I do? |

Have since installed Debian on it, but haven't as yet installed fglrx (on the todo when-it-needs-doing list) | Myth (110) | ||
