Hi Billy,

Just wondering if you are still freenet user? Are you able to access your old emails? In my case I have 3 freenet mail accounts. I can login now and have only 7-8 newly arrived email. All my old e-mails (nearly 170, 70 and 50 mail in each account) are gone?

I don't know if they are working on giving back old e-mail 'or' from their side 'job is done!!!'

Ashdave

I would like to know too...husband has only had the ones that were sent after they were apparently 'all go' again.
:badpc:

cheers,
Marnie

Hi Marnie,

I have send several e-mail to them asking the status of my old e-mails? tell your husband to send e-mail at 'suuport@free . net . nz' asking re: lost mails . When many people will ask for loast mail then only they may do something . Although they haven't replied my any mail . but i'll keep sending them mail . :dogeye:

638000 2008-02-09 21:27:00 Thanks, Dave . I will pass the information on to him . I secretly think that it was the Billy T's email sent to them years ago that was the cause of the system being out of order . The thought of being helpful and professional may have addled their brains .

Cheers,
Marnie

638002 2008-02-10 02:51:00 On the 8th I filled in the Freenet Website Feedback Form commenting that I felt it was pretty poor that their website had no mention of the fact that their email was down and no estimated time of repair (yeah I know, Xtra's crap at that too...). The email has just been returned marked as 'undeliverable'......... Wrecker Jim (771)

Having endured time-outs with Mailwasher accessing my Freenet email for a few days, I decided to just close the account. Unfortunately, despite a confirmation web page, I am receiving a bounce email telling me that support@free.net.nz is not in the virtual mailbox :waughh:

Yes, I am still a freenet user and receive 3-400 emails a week from a Yahoo Group through them . However, I never store emails on any ISP's server, I always preview and delete via Mailwasher then download and backup any wanted mail here so I can't help .

I do know that all of the Yahoo emails sent to me during the outage have been lost, but they were only notifications and the originals are still on the group server in the US so I can check them on line .

Cheers

I have made several attempts to contact them through their 'support@free . net . nz' address, my all e-mail bounced back . Now the message after logging in informing that 'they have problem and system is in maintenance . . . . . . . . ' has disappeared . So, form their point of view 'System is FULLY Operational' . Where as apart from missing/lost email, I have noticed, their existing system is crap too . . even after being logged-in, when trying to open a mail, it throws an error asking to login-in again . and session resets completely . What a poor and third class job they have done? Not even having to courage to face it . . so , they have disabled/removed their support email address too .

638006 2008-02-20 21:43:00 having similar problems. my email client connects, and i can log in to webmail, but there are never any messages. i'm on several large-ish mailing lists and should be getting 50-100 messages a day.
I rang the 0900 number today, and the call timed out after 2 minutes. Awesome, that cost me $4.
Then i rang compass, got told to ring the 0900, told them it didn't work and it had cost me $8 (yeah i tried again) and asked for a freenet support dude to call ME and tell me what's up.
so i'll let you guys know if anything happens.

638007 2008-02-21 21:16:00 It is complete wast of time, trying to get anything for 'freenet support' it is a dead company with unprofessional attitude. They should be ashamed of their customer service.

I rang a week ago to compus communication number and asked the lady to pass on my message to freenet support team. I haven't received nay call back or reply to any of my mails.

Same, me I have all e-mail stopped coming to my freenet account. I have changed address for my essential mail to other mail address.

But it is hard to remember where all this address were used and from where all I am expecting mails.
