637581 2008-02-08 03:03:00 I have now changed over to Fusion with WxC and things are fine. Except, I can no longer use my two extension phones in the bedrooms. I was aware that this could be a problem and can be resolved by paying a tech to come and set them up with a bit of rewiring. However that is not urgent and I am just happy that Fusion will actually cost me about $20 less each month now that I don't have to pay Telecom anything. lakewoodlady (103)
637582 2008-02-08 03:07:00 Nor could I get the eftpos terminal to connect at all..

This might be because the EFTPOS terminal dials a special 087-something number which may not be available from outside a Telecom/Telstra network.?

Thanks for reporting back!
So the phone line is clear and no latency? So, are you having one phone connection or two? Is fax working? How about answering service, is that possible one way or another(without a local machine)
Would it cost a lot for your bedroom extensions?
As said before my total cost is now without a phone card approx. 150.- so I should be able to do a lot better than that?
I am looking forward to see more detail report?
Thanks a lot

637584 2008-02-08 21:26:00 I have just the one line and it seems just the same as it was. No latency or echo and quite clear.
I don't have a fax or an answer machine.
I think if you read in the FAQs on WxC site it says a one off fee of $149 to send a tech around. I am not able to afford to get the extensions going at the moment, maybe next year.
My total cost is now: $69.95 for Broadband and phoneline.
$10.00 for 10 GBs data cap.
$10.00 tolls (approx)

Total: $$89.95

Previously was: $113.00 everything incl.

Hope this helps a bit.

That is very clear!
Are the toll calls charged a minute like the Telecom or per MB traffic?

637586 2008-02-09 07:32:00 5 cents per min. lakewoodlady (103)
637587 2008-02-11 07:32:00 Hi again
5c/min. is not necessarily cheap as I can ring through a call card for 3.9 cents to Germany. And, I'm quite sure that won't be the cheapest either.
Does anyone know how it works with fax? Xnet send me an info packet but it is rather slim!
Any more info is appreciated.
Thanks

637588 2008-02-18 18:00:00 Hi
Update:
I can add a costing from Xnet to this.
Rural - $89.95 (Urban 69.95)
10GB Broadband $1 per GB = $10
2 Phone connections 1st line included in $89.95 + $7.95 for Second line
National calls approx. 300min. @ 5 cents per minute $15.00 International; Central Europe 180min. @ 5 cents per minute $9.00
Total 131.90
The same is costing now approx. $180.- with T..com
To get those savings of approx. $50.- I have to spend a considerable amount for new phones and connections.
Once more, living rural is not cheap!
So, the above does not make a decision easy.

637589 2008-02-18 22:12:00 Hi notechyet,
Sorry I only gave you urban cost, as that is where I'm at. I don't make many toll calls (I use Skype) so 5c is no big deal. A $20 per month saving is though, as being a WINZ client doesn't pay much, lol
