313862 2005-01-16 22:06:00 Thanks for all your help guys. I went into Noel Leemings and got myself one this morning.

Just something interesting I found - when you type "Samsung N391" into Google, this thread comes up top of the list, even ahead of Telecom's site.

Just a question from a cellphone newbie - when I first plugged it into the wall to charge, the screen was lit up and had the charging symbol (as the manual had said). Now the backlight has turned off, and pushing keys doesn't seem to get it back on - is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. Just leave it alone until it has finished charging or the battery will never retain its charge for very long. You will also notice that it says it is fully recharged after just a few hours - Noel Leemings advised to let it charge overnight for maximum performance which appeared to be correct advice.

313866 2005-01-17 05:19:00 Many people have proven from experience that having one is very useful in times of emergencies etc. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

I don't want to send photos, but having the capability to store them is useful.

My primary reason for getting one is so I can get in touch with others when I need to, without having to hunt down a phone or computer. I'm not going to write a letter, in fact I haven't done so for years because it costs money to post, and takes a day to arrive. In the 21st century you need to communicate fast to do business, and sometimes email just doesn't cut it - I have found out the hard way.

You are welcome to have your opinion. My choice is based on my needs, and I have sought help from fellow PressF1ers to ensure that I am not buying a lemon - just like I would do if I was buying a computer.

Do remember Jack is an old man ;) and set in his ways.
