| 315507 | 2005-01-27 08:51:00 | Hi Ninja I have not been able to find someone with a region 1,2 etc DVD to try how it works. A few mins ago therefore I went on-line and ordered the region 1 DVD through Amazon. It takes about 10-16 days to ship to me - so I will let you know how I get on. You have to take a chance sometimes ! cheers Misty :) |

If u were in Auckland , I could give u a few zone 1's to try. I've got about 4. And after all this time, IF it isnt multizone take it back, say it isnt multizone and buy another one that is multizone. |

The problem isn't just zoning . With Regional Coding Enhanced will a Zone 1 RCE disk play in a multizone player or does the player have to be Zone 1? You may need to try a Zone 1 RCE disk to be sure not just Zone 1 . |

| 315511 | 2005-01-28 04:27:00 | Nope dont think so PaulD. Ive got a Phillips multizone here and a Panasonic 5 cd/dvd player. Either will play zone 1's Well any zone. Just chuck it in it'll play. I wouldnt have a clue what RCE is lol I just know the Zone 1's I have here play OK in these DVD players here. Just as long a a DVD player says multizone, it should play all zones 1-6. Otherwise its false advertising. |

| 315512 | 2005-03-08 06:47:00 | Success !! I talked with Noel Leeming people and they gave me an 0800 number and told me that if I rang it they would give me codes that I put in once and it would play any region permanently. I rang them today and we have just entered the codes "and what do you know", the region 2 DVD plays fine and then we checked with region 4 DVD and no problemo !! Marvellous Misty  :) |

| 315514 | 2005-03-09 04:49:00 | Ok, it's DVD-P147 (which probably just stands for pacific). Here's what I did on my parents one: Turn the player on with no disc in it. Press the REPEAT button on the remote (not repeat ab). Type in 76884 on the remote A number should appear at the top right of the display (probably 04) for a region 4 player Press number 9 on the remote to set it to multi-region Wait 15 seconds then turn off the unit using the power button on the player. Turn back on and it should be region free This may work with your player - the above steps need to be done reasonably quickly. It'd be worth getting hold of a Region 1 DVD to test it before buying any. As a rule DVD players aren't _allowed_ to play DVD's outside their own region. Hi Ninja In answer to your question what we were told to do was basically what you have outlined above. Minor difference was after "Press number 9 on the remote to set it to multi-region" I was told to "open and close the drawer" then turn off then turn on --- it is then region free cheers Misty |
