2008-02-07 03:07:00 | On my old XP I was immediately connected to the internet after the computer came out of hibernation. On my new Vista it doesn't connect after hibernation orsleep but needs a lot of coaxing from my side to connect to my Belkin wireless router which is on all the time. It doesn't matter if I switch from Wireless to Ethernet. What do I need to change? | rainershanti (13382) | |
2008-02-07 03:20:00 | Welcome to PressF1 rainershanti. It's a known Vista bug, hopefully service pack one, coming to a windowsupdate site near you, in the near future, will fix this issue. In the mean time, either turn it off completely or don't put it to sleep.

2008-02-07 21:27:00 | If you are on a laptop, i suggest you turn off the wireless connection before hibernation/sleep and turn it back on after your computer is back up and running. | Cato (6936) | |
2008-02-09 02:31:00 | Hi there, thank you for the suggestions but even if I turn the computer completely off at restart it doesn't turn my internet connection on but suggests an unidentified network. I have to pull my network cable out twice before it recognises my belkin router. Answer two: when I had my wireless connection on, this is exactly what I did, turning the wireless off and on but it is a nuisance. I want to be automatically connected the moment my computer is up and running

I can confirm that there is a fix for this issue already in Windows Vista SP1 SP1 will be released to MSDN and TechNet subscribers this week and will be available for public download next month Cheers Nathan |
