313077 2005-01-11 12:29:00 What with the archives of PressF1 being open to bots now, it is understandable that we can expect them to go snooping in the corners of PressF1.

But I took a look through the Who's Online list and was surprised to see the status of one Ask Jeeves Spider as "Registering". :p

Do they really need to do that? ;)

They'll keep doing that forever, just ignore them. It doesnt affect you

Yep, sure this is newbe terms

A bot/spider is a piece of automate software that go around looking for thing or doing automate things...


and where they come from, there uses and what they do.

They come from different search engions eg Google/Yahoo etc... What they main job is to try & find new websites so they can be listed in those search engines

Yep :), like take for example the Google Bot The Google Bot Goes around finding websites like for example Press F1
