What IRC Client Were you using?
Dannz (1668)
316210 2005-01-21 21:09:00 With the online client you need to wait for the channel to open otherwise u need to go /join #CF1 Dannz (1668)
316211 2005-01-21 21:52:00 What IRC Client Were you using?

GAIM V1.1.0-0.FC3, (on a Linux-FC3 system of course)..... Mind you it seemed to work without any password/channel/etc, as soon as there was someone else communicating!

You may of had the channel name as "CF1" instead of "#cf1".
So, try #cf1 and see if that works.
