316861 2005-01-24 10:27:00 That'll teach you for buying a crappy monitor :D

Is there anything in the wavelength of an LCD's floro that would attract flies as per the fly zappers??

316862 2005-01-25 01:38:00 They've all missed the obvious straightforward technique.

Keep a hammer handy.

Fly lands. THWACK. :badpc: That fly won't do it again.

tinkle

316864 2005-05-06 03:33:00 Note to self. Fly spots are not dead pixels. KiwiTT_NZ (233)
316865 2005-05-06 04:46:00 i dont have the fly probs on my LCD, the thing with me is, ya just can see the monitor, just not the desk.......too many papers...so maybe that puts them off?The flies are smarter than you think, they can see a big beetle sitting in front. :D

As for Shortcircuit's problem, according to Shortcircuit there wasnt a problem with a CRT, so glue your new LCD to the front of your old CRT, sure you risk breaking things, warrenty??, you will use more power, wont save any space.....BUT you will have no flies.

So kind of you Beetle to bump this post... I am pleased to anounce that I have just moved house and no flies so far, tending towards thinking the neighbours were attracting them, or perhaps the flies don't like the current curry smell permeating every nook and cranny of my new abode.

Could be a new brand of fly spray in the offing...

316867 2005-05-06 13:57:00 Well when the flies come, you need to be ready...

30,000 volts of fly zapping action (www.personalarms.com) should do the trick.

Just don't touch the screen... :o And I mean that, at 8 amps (!), there will be no question as to whether instant death will result or not... Imagine the power of 7,000 solering irons pouring through your heart!
