Don't forget that as they are sending you money, they may want to to get in touch with you over it. Just recently they have changed the system so instead of getting a check, it is deposited directly into your bank account. You can still receive cheques but depositing into a bank account so just so much easier :D Mind you I wouldn't mind getting a cheque from google for christmas. It appears google only send presents to Adwords customers from time to time and not Adsense. |

Theoretically you could call it a business, and therefore claim back your internet bills, your computer devaluations, electricity, repairs, etc from the tax. In paractice the IRD seem to think of your google income as a hobby, until you start to make some real money. My thought is that you are being paid US dollars in google, so the first check you get is $100US. Just think of that as NZ$ and that is enough to cover the tax. |

They are after Linden dollars right now and what you might earn is already declared taxable income...and don't forget...there's a long and detailed paper trail about all your transactions for the tax boys to follow.... I suggest you come clean or they'll be at your door with some knee-breakers to help you "see" your transgressions....if youse catch my drift. There was a full-time student in a local college here who was making money spamming, and he made enough to lose his student exemption and had to get a real job... |
