639106 2008-02-10 22:34:00 What version of the BIOS is on it??

Some BIOS updates may also fix ram compatibility issues.

BIOS Version/Date:Award Software International, Inc. F9, 2/01/2008
SMBIOS: Version 2.4
I had allready downloaded the most recent release BIOS.

639107 2008-02-10 22:35:00 Thats the same as the other PC here.

Its not meant to support DDR 400, but it does. (I didnt know this since the mobo was 2nd hand, and I didnt have a manual at the time).

But since the CPU in it, is only 533 fsb, it only supports 266 dual channel.

Any higher it wont boot, unless I change the CPU to a 800 fsb one.

639108 2008-02-10 22:35:00 I'm just assuming that your motherboard cannot handle 2+ sticks of DDR2-2 1066 ram which is a lot of bandwidth .

On my old KX600 Socket A motherboard (which on paper says it perfectly supports DDR400) couldn't handle 2 sticks of DDR400 so I had to lower it to 333 which worked perfectly . There wasn't much performance difference between 400 and 333 so I didn't really care much (not too sure about 800 and 1066) .
Ok,i'll have a bit of a fiddle the the BIOS memory settings .

So Speedy, you also agree that I should try and turn my memory's speed down?

639110 2008-02-10 22:36:00 I had already downloaded the most recent release BIOS.

Did you set the BIOS to its default settings, then reconfigure it. After you flashed the BIOS?

I put everything back to the default after I updated the BIOS,the only thing that I have changed in the BIOS is to activate the cpu fan fail warning

639112 2008-02-10 22:44:00 I would untick automatically restart, under system properties / advanced / settings (bottom one), startup and recovery.

Then tell us what the BSOD says. When it crashes again.

Or go to control panel / admin tools / event viewer. Look for entries under system or application. About the time it crashed. Tell us what it says, and what the name of the file / driver is.

639113 2008-02-10 23:49:00 I can't seem to get the BSOD to flash up any more but the game sometimes kicks me out to my desktop or it freezes and I have to press the restart button on my PC Krisby5 (13221)

I would give the memory a volt increment up!

Did you look under event viewer?

To see what maybe causing it under Application and System??

Have you installed the patches for whatever game/s?

Does it show any file/s in task manager, as not responding?
