9H Hardness Surface for Protection
The LS201 is protected by the hardened glass, which reaches 9H hardness level. As if high-class watches are always covered with jewel crystal on top, the hardened glass of diamond-cut work also serves as the same role for LS201. The anti-reflection coating allows light to be transmitted more than 96%, and reflections are cut down to less than 2%. It truly displays excellent visual quality and allows you to look on monitors comfortably for a long time.

Note. The cover glass has passed the ASTM(American Society for Testing and Materials) D3363-92a standard of the hardness test.

639039 2008-02-10 22:57:00 Kill 2 birds with 1 stone and buy a Sony 40" LCD TV which you can also plug your computer into.
:)

For under $450??? I doubt it. We might aswell suggest he go for LG's 100" LCD. LCD Monitors are way cheaper than tv's, and way more convenient. And who wants to write word files etc on a 40" monster? But for gaming I'd agree with you.

639041 2008-02-10 23:54:00 Thanks for all your comments. I am thinking of the Philips 190S7FB

Any comments on this monitor? I do not think it pivots, but I have decided I do not need that.

639042 2008-02-11 00:52:00 I have just read that unlike CRT monitors which have multisync capability allowing many different resolutions, LCD monitors have only one native (or optimum) resolution, and if you select a resolution lower of higher than the native resolution you can get poor results. I want to work in 1024 x 768 or 1152 x 864. Possibly 1280 x 960. I have also read that refresh rates are not a problem on LCD monitors and that 60Hz or 75Hz is OK. What do you think. I have my Sony 17" CRT set at 100Hz. p5t5r85nry (10658)
639043 2008-02-11 05:40:00 Can someone explain to me why only some monitors are listed as Vista compatible? I am still using XP Professional, but some day in the future I may change to Vista. If I buy a monitor that is not listed as Vista ready/compatible, what sort of problems will I encounter? p5t5r85nry (10658)

None, Vista ready just means it is fully compatible with windows vista. Any monitor that displays 800x600+ Will work with vista fine with no probs =)

639045 2008-02-11 08:35:00 I read that one day the old VGA D-DUB connection may not work and that you will have to connect using DVI? p5t5r85nry (10658)
