315627 2005-01-19 07:50:00 ...Besides what were you doing downloading 66Gb!

Easily done...I do about 20-30GB a month just on a 256kb/sec download speed (which isn't really broadband). And that's pretty much nearly all BBC documentaries and sport off bittorrent (www.uknova.com).

What's the point in having broadband if you can't use it for downloading? 10GB a month is far too restrictive...but hey that's Telecom for you and we're all used to it by now. Of course, some people won't use anywhere near 10GB but that's up to them.

315628 2005-01-19 08:40:00 I use Woosh, do all the surfing, email and downloading that I (considering myself a normal PC user) require, and have never exceeded 500MB in a month.
Some people must spend all their time in front of their computer and do nothing useful 24 hours a day! Get a life!

One can just set their downloads up on a pc and leave them. I know I leave mine on overnight occasionally. Not look at it for a week and then next time you come back, there's umpteen GB of goodies to look forward to. If anything I spend less time on a PC as I don't spend any time surfing (apart from PressF1 of course!)

315632 2005-01-20 01:59:00 Hi Folks..... 3 days into my new billing cycle and I've just been capped by Xtra... 15gb apparently... and even last month I wasn't capped and I reached a whopping 66gbs! A whole month at dialup speed. I think I'm going to cry. Get on with life. Cry if it helps. You have a legitimate contract with a vendor. You clearly know the terms. This is no different to a friend of mine who spends the whole summer watering his veggie garden and lawn and then complains about the size of his water rates.

I don't know how that's any different to people to leave their heaters on all night during winter when they've left for holiday. The bill alone is a worry let alone the safety side of things.

315634 2005-01-20 03:10:00 Lo,

Ive got a bit of bandwidth left and Ive already done a few Linux distros myself... NavynOS looks particularly good (Just gotta boot it now).

I did 22 gigs a few months back, of honest 100% legit stuff... no p2p... some torrents (because I had to get slackware off torrent) but yeah.. it aint hard!

Who said anything about complaining? Of course I knew I ran the risk of getting capped . I just didn't think I'd break the limit in 3 days, that's all .

Lo .
