639019 2008-02-10 05:13:00 Hey people. I am planning to buy a cheap apple laptop. I found the faulty apple laptop. (corrupted logic board). Anyone knows where i can fix the problem? Or do you think i should buy it and get it fixed? grahic (12930)
639020 2008-02-10 05:27:00 Depending on where you live, your nearest Apple tech, or search out a 2nd hand one on trademe. Probably less fuss to seek out a 2nd hand one in good working order from trademe or checkout the deals from the two links below. The G4 iBook is getting pretty old.

639022 2008-02-10 05:30:00 Magnum Mac in Newton Gully if you are in the City although the other two have very good mailing lists for 2nd hand stuff. Not sure what version of OS X you are currently running but you can run up to OS X 10.4.1 (Tiger) on the G4 iBook. vitalstatistix (9182)

logic board would probably run you around$800- $1000 to replace. There was a replacement program running for faulty ones. You could check the serial number on the ibook to see if its one of the ones apple was replacing. DON'T waste your money, but if you do I have 12inch ibook sitting in a draw with faulty board.
