638798 2008-02-09 05:53:00 About a week ago my computer started to develop the distubing tendancy to stop without warning at intermittant times. The only way to get it going was to turn of the power, wait till the light on the start button had gone out and turn the power back on at which time it wouls reboot itself.

Now I'm gettin a message during POST that my bios is disabled, I not that savy on the Bios, I've had a look during start up and it all looks ok. Is there any way to check and see whats causing the problems?? ie: reports or schedules

Cheers

638800 2008-02-09 07:09:00 Shouldn't be a disabled BIOS - without the BIOS nothing would work.

You can try changing the CMOS battery, that could be going/gone flat, if the Battery is low or dieing it can cause all sorts of problems, usually at startup, its mainly for time keeping, but also tells the PC how to boot etc.

What you can also try is reseting the BIOS back to default and see what happens. Normally on boot up there is a quick message saying what key to press - Delete works on most boards, or F2 - if you get into the BIOS look and some place will tell you what key to press to restore defaults / optimized settings - what is the brand of PC ?
