| 316429 | 2005-01-21 07:57:00 | Hmmmm I am currently looking at using a power main network adapter to set up la lan in my house, how ever the speed is 14 mbps, is this as fast as a normal wired network or is it slower. :2cents: | rrtipene (6947) | ||
| 316430 | 2005-01-21 08:11:00 | It'll be about as fast as a 10Mbps wired network or an 802.11b wireless network, but most wired networks these days have a theoretical maximum of 100Mbps (which can't be reached anyway) - but if you aren't going to be doing huge file transfers, 14Mbps should be perfectly fine. | agent (30) | ||

Agreed...I don't know why anyone would bother now the wireless revolution is here. See in Harvey Normals they've got the next step up from the 'g' standard. Not cheap but I notice new standards keep coming out regularly that are superior...leaving the older ones to drop in price significantly. |

However, with wireless connections and all the rest, you can now easily go wireless. Not only is this cheaper, you don't even need a power point for it! -assuming your computer has power already :p |
