| 319527 | 2005-01-30 22:49:00 | Home Computer Magazine is a free downloadable magazine produced in the UK and distributed electronically . You need Acrobat 6 to be able to read it and it is supported by adverts within the magazine's pages . Inside each issue of Home Computer Magazine, you’ll find about 30 pages of computer news, features, PC reviews, hardware and software reviews, and masses of tutorials on subjects like Windows XP, website creation, software programs like Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Word, help on hot topics like wireless networking and broadband . I have yet to download it myself but thought others may be interested in having a look . Their reader policy sounds OK and I can't see any catches so it looks like something worth checking out . :) Grab it from here: http://www . homecomputermagazine . com/ |

| 319528 | 2005-01-30 23:39:00 | Files are 9-10 megs pdf. Needs Adobe Reader 6. But it said my 6.01 needs a special "Rendition" plugin. I'll get it later. Mag not really for geeks/gurus, but worth a look. Not v clever for this sort of middle level mag to need special plugin for Adobe 6. | TonyF (246) | ||
| 319529 | 2005-01-30 23:48:00 | Hmmmm.........The question is why bother? Anyone interested in general or specific info can look up 50 billion sites right here on the net. Anyone interested in reading a magazine can buy a glossy and take it to the loo with them. Both have their places but a melding of the 2 seems senseless..... |

Hi Tony, Acrobat Reader version 7 is now out and doesn't require any special plugins for this magazine. Not sure what version of Windows you are running on your beastie but if it isn't Win98 you might want to consider upgrading. :) |
