318524 2005-01-28 00:32:00 If it is the full retail version and not OEM I would list it for $450, make sure you write a story explaining the difference and legalities between Retail and OEM.

Good idea! It is the full retail version and there are bound to be a few honest & ethical buyers out there who actually care about silly things like conditions of sale, licensing matters and other minor legal technicalities.

As an aside, it is interesting to see the prices a full version of W95, W98 or W98SE can still command, but ME seems to be rather less favoured.

Cheers

318526 2005-01-28 01:30:00 You used too many.

I was going to say that I have a valid copy of Windows XP Pro, but then I remembered I'm using an Academic version...

318528 2005-01-28 08:37:00 Hey come on! There's nought wrong with Windows ME

Why are you looking at me funny? :nerd:

318529 2005-01-28 10:42:00 Hi Team

Due to a purchasing duplication it looks like I may end up with a redundant copy of the latest version of XP Pro (includes SP2), still in its shrink-wrapped MS box. It is the real deal, not an upgrade or OEM version.

Any ideas on what the going rate might be if I decide to quit it? I was thinking of putting it in Trade & Exchange as I am not into Trade-Me.

How long did it take for you to realize this? Why not return it to your supplier? If it is unopened they should take it back with possibly a restocking penalty charge.

*cough*

I bought several copies at a favourable price through a friend in the trade, so I can't send it back. :(

Loss on resale of one copy won't wipe out all of the savings though. :)
