| 639425 | 2008-02-11 06:53:00 | The main question I have is... Currently, this PC is part of a network. It's the PC the router is attached to. (Don't know if that makes any difference) If I was to run in Ubuntu, would the other users in my network still be able to access shared drives on my PC? Or would I be having to set up a new network for each OS. If so, would that impact the other users connecting to the net? Sorry if this sounds vague, I don't know enough about this to even pretend to sound liek I know what's going to happen. :rolleyes: |

| 639426 | 2008-04-14 06:11:00 | The latest beta of Ubuntu 8.04 is a quantum leap forward. You can read and write to NTFS with the default settings and you don't have to mount the drives. When your network's set up you shouldn't have any problem seeing those drives. If you need help setting up the network the best place to get help would be the Ubuntu forum http://ubuntuforums.org/ Hope this helps :) |

| 639427 | 2008-04-14 18:37:00 | I run a home network with Ubuntu on my box and XP on another machine no problem.When I set up the network I found it easy to work from the Xp machine and set up a MS network then my linux machine saw all that it was allowed to see on the Xp machine. | kjaada (253) | ||
