What is the point? Well, there seems to be a looming problem (www.computerworld.com) with "waste" PCs, and I doubt that these cast-offs are all 486's or Pentium I's. Even if they were, you could easily run Linux or BSD on them (OK, so forget about games). With the list of corporate backers mentioned in the article, it does sound like an effort to exploit a potential new market.

The article states that the minimum order for these cut price PCs is ONE MILLION units . Egad - is this a misprint?? How could developing nations afford to order 1M PCs??!!
