640447 2008-02-15 01:03:00 I had some alterations done to my computer desk the other day and since then my spare CRT monitor's light will not come on nor will anything show on the screen . The desk had been shaken around a wee bit with some steel being sawn off while the monitor was still on it . The LCD monitor, PC and other items are fine, however .

Plugs are plugged in properly, powerpoint is working, etc etc .

Has it gone and died on me? :dogeye:

640448 2008-02-15 01:06:00 Looks a bit like it . :dogeye:

Pull it apart and check the power switch, if your that way inclined .

Tried a different power cable?

640449 2008-02-15 01:09:00 I don't think I've got another monitor cable. Unless I pinch the one off the other PC.... Yeah! Good idea!

It's not worth pulling it apart - too old and it's only a spare. If it's dead I'll get a new LCD to replace it.

640450 2008-02-15 01:10:00 Good move. :p

Fair enough, it does sound as it it's kicked the bucket. Good excuse to upgrade.

640452 2008-02-15 01:25:00 Go shoot it. Best way to farewell a CRT monitor. wratterus (105)
640453 2008-02-15 01:29:00 Good idea! What would you recommend, an air rifle, a shottie, .22, .308 or 7mm08? :p FoxyMX (5)
640454 2008-02-15 01:31:00 Definitely .308. Far more satisfying!

Edit - well, is it a pump-action shottie?
wratterus (105)
640455 2008-02-15 01:34:00 Not pump-action .

Finding somewhere to do this dirty deed will be the hard part .

640456 2008-02-15 01:37:00 Hmm, well in that case I'd probably stick with the .308.

When theres a will theres a way. ;)
