640016 2008-02-13 23:07:00 Does anyone know of a program that can pop up a message box to let a user know that a file has been added to a folder?

I have a situation where someone wants their fax to store incoming faxes on their PC. I can get the fax to do that (via SMB) but the there is no way for the person to know if a fax has arrived.

Thanks

Jeff.

Most of the fax Programs usually have an option to notify the receiver of an arrival, either by a sound played, or a pop up window or both.

640018 2008-02-14 00:21:00 I am talking about a fax machine, not a fax/modem. The fax is connected via a network.

Their is no supplied software with the fax for this purpose.

640019 2008-02-14 00:43:00 Yes, we use Apeoware Flow Services with 1 on our Xerox copy\printers which has a fax on it. It sends an e-mail via smtp thru our exchange server to the receptionist to advise fax rec'd and copy in a shared folder.
We only use the system basically, it can actually read via OCR who the fax is for and send via e-mail to said recipient.

This software is not inexpensive though and really is only good for corporates.
