322157 2005-02-07 19:55:00 If you tried what the instructions said, the door is still nearly new, take it back and say its broken or something as you tried all the methods in the instructions to make it clean and they didn't work.
You must have misunderstood Rob,I am talking about a shower door, not a PC. ;)

322160 2005-02-07 21:45:00 I would suggest that you don't worry about it Cicero.

Let the "audience" clean it, if their view is so enthralling.

If it just gets worse though, there is a distinct message about the quality of the view?

Suffice to say, there is a tendency to linger. ;)

322162 2005-02-07 23:40:00 If it has no coating and is common old toughened (tempered) or laminated glass (layered standard float glass with a plastic or resin bonding layer between), then just use your basic detergent based cleaner to get rid of the soap scum, dirt, skin and body fats that make up what is mostly in the "hazy" layer that's bothering your audience. If that's not up to the work, try alcohol after getting the worst off, kero and turps leave an oily film, avoid. What the instructions may be worrying about are the mildy acidic glass and general cleaners, eg, lemon or orange based or ammonia based cleaners.

For best results in the viewing pleasure of your fans, replace the existing panel(s) with laminated "Diamant, A colourless (extra white) clear float glass with a very low iron oxide content resulting in very high light transmittance and an exceptionally clear appearance"

322164 2005-02-08 02:21:00 I was going to say CLR as well, but Billy T bet me to it.

There is another cure of course, we don't even have a shower door at all, there's just a shower head off the wall and a drain in the middle of the floor in the bathroom.

322165 2005-02-08 03:05:00 Just think about the extraordinary complexity of this problem Cicero, and it suddenly occurred to me :o

Assuming of course that you have updated the screen drivers to the latest version, have you tried a cold reboot? It may not clarify the image, but you won't be in there long enough to notice. :p

From the general interest shown in your ablutionary activities, I'd also update your anti-spyware as well.

Cheers

322166 2005-02-08 07:29:00 Quelle amusant Billy. :D :D You are quite a wit.

Now for Tom's problem. I've considered this deeply and resorted to my 7th form chemistry text wherein lie all answers when otherwise baffled.

No worries Tom - get your hands on some hydrofluoric acid. It'll get rid of your unsightly layer of detritus.

Cheers
