Graham...if you collect all the outboard motors you can find, and place them on your South-Western shore, and start them all up at full throttle, you can push that tiny island here to California and enjoy seeing things from the top side for a change.......lol

323320 2006-01-23 05:56:00 Speaking of what Graham L had spoke, if you are applying for a gmail account on a computer with the regional set to Germany, you will get theusernameoftheuserjusttomakeitlongtopreventspamm ingpurpose@googlemail.com instead of the usual domain extension. Wikipedia has the explanation for it.

Cheers :)

323324 2006-03-23 13:23:00 Why would I want a Gmail account anyway?? Is it just some cool exclusive thing due to the fact its invitation only? What is better about it than the 1Gig account I have with Yahoo? Johnnz (7246)
323325 2006-03-23 19:46:00 Why would I want a Gmail account anyway?? Is it just some cool exclusive thing due to the fact its invitation only? What is better about it than the 1Gig account I have with Yahoo?Good question. I suppose the answer could be "anything but hotmail is good :p"

Gmail has 2.5 GB of storage, which is 2.5 times yahoos current offering. It also has pop3 access. Does yahoo provide this?

Anyway, if you have something you are happy with, then there is no need to change, no one is forcing you to.

As for the invite thing, its not so much elete, as making it more than a 2 second process to get a new email addy, thus making it harder for people to grab them because the can, and thus more likely that each account will actually be used constructively. One can get a Gmail addy by txt invite as well, you just apply with your phone number.

I assume that gmail don't want the role that hotmail have, where people get hotmail addys for disposable reasons
