There are too many variable between each person, such as motorbyclist has said, location and distance to the server etc WILL make a difference. So it is not really an accurate way to judge the difference. __________________ yea but there might be a huge differnce in speed |

2008-02-15 22:26:00 | Wow, those are some crappy speed tests....here's mine (Xnet FS/FS) www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net) and www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net) I love posting those...considering with Telecom back in the day it was no where near above 100kbps upload and 2mbps download. EDIT: And theres no guarantee you will get those speeds if you switch to Xnet, or anywhere close for that matter. EDIT2: And no one answered him about interleaving, basically if you game a lot, ask them to turn it off and you'll get a better ping, tho in rare cases you MAY NEED interleaving on, but most of the time you'll be fine without it. But they'll tell you if you need it on or off.

2008-02-15 23:24:00 | Also be aware that if your broadband plan is limited to 128Kbit upload, then your download will NEVER be any faster than about 4.5Mbit/s (This applies to all ISP's, not just Xtra/Xnet). Even at 4.5Mbit/s though, you can get around 450-500MB/s.. | Sherman (9181) | |
2008-02-15 23:32:00 | Probably why mine doesn't above go 4.5 then, with the river plan. Oh well, I'm not too worried, I dont play games online, and downloading is fast enough for me. But yer, I can get 450+ on a few sites sometimes.

2008-02-16 00:39:00 | Even at 4.5Mbit/s though, you can get around 450-500MB/s.. how? my lan can't even do that:p just did a speed test will i get faster results with xnet with this site? can some 1 with xnet do a speed test at speedtest.net and connect to the auckland sever and post the results to see if its alot faster or just a little www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net) unless someone with xnet goes to your house and sets up your router to run their xnet connection, other people's speedtest results don't mean much:nerd: considering you get 2494Kbps, and your router's connection to the exchange is only 2848Kbps, i don't imagine you'd see much improvement, if anything at all however, from what i hear you will receive vastly better customer service and as you pay only for what you use, the bill may be cheaper too:thumbs: (lol, basically a rewrite of my lost post:p)

2008-02-16 00:43:00 | Yer I wouldnt trust those speed test sites. Xnet said I was about 4200 or something dl,and 132 upload or something. Speedtest gave just under 4200 and 1/2 of the upload Xnet gave. Yer I'm using my flatmates line. Which is why I killed my line.
