322494 2005-02-07 10:24:00 This is subsequent to the ongoing discussion in the thread "CD Copying threats". I am curious to know what you would consider a fair price that you would be willing to purchase a legitimate copy of a single song for. I am using a single song as that is what most people download (those with bandwidth to burn can download whole albums of course).

As opinions are posted in the thread mentioned above, I am just looking for an indication here. However feel free to post a comment or an opinion if you like.

322495 2005-02-07 10:37:00 $2 a track max, maybe $20 for a full length album.

322496 2005-02-07 11:11:00 What's the quality of the downloaded media? If it's not lossless I wouldn't buy it at all. E|im (87)
322497 2005-02-07 11:49:00 Without wanting to start a debate once again....

I wouldn't buy a single, 45 minutes of worthwhile music is a low standard that should be strived for, not dismissed for a 3 minute jingle about sex ,hating their mum or being a miserble spolit brat.

So full album packs only for me,and i would pay......um.......$5 per album of cd quality wav files.

And if too little was going to the creators of the music (next to nothing i would imagine) then I wouldn't bother at all.

There are enough worthless fatcats on the planet without me feeding them my hard earned money.

322498 2005-02-07 12:16:00 I voted less than $1 which I think is fair, but untill this comes about I will continue using the last option Rob99 (151)
322499 2005-02-07 20:44:00 I wouldn't, now if you were talking about buying CDs for $20 I would certainly be buying more. Jeremy (1197)
322500 2005-02-08 07:33:00 Ah . One song . I was thinking an album @ $5 .

One song? I suppose $1 but I can't think when I'd actually do that .

322501 2005-02-08 08:12:00 Music used to be worth paying a whole album for. I used to be able to buy whole compilations (The Now! series) of deacent songs (Got Now! 8 to 13), but with the latest crap that's loaded on, the only thing I'm likely to buy is blank CDs with the sounds voucher.
