After seeing the success of itunes, but its unavailablity in NZ, it got me thinking, how hard would it be to set up a local version - i mean still with international artists, but only maybe for use in Aus/NZ.
I'd take it you'd need to talk to all the record companies, and they might have a deal with a service such as iTunes saying they can't realise to anyone else, but i doubt it.
Becuase i reckon you'd need the big labels for it to work.
And How would it work, would they relise the songs to you, and you pay them a set fee each time it's downloaded?
And i'm not to sure how iTunes works, but do there songs have Licenses and stuff on them, or can you do what you want with them?

And now a few questions for you guys about it:
What do you think is a OK price for a song, $1, $1.5? $2? more? what would you pay

What format, and or quality would you want, like there'd be now pt having 64kb songs, would 128 be enough? 192? maybe different options, standard at 128, extra few cents for 192 etc

And wot would be the best way to pay, i personally wouldn't wanna get out my Credit Card each time i get one song...
Maybe could have a 'prepay' system, where you put in the $$ (say $20) and use it up when you want.

So yea, would it be ok to start looking into it, or would i just be wasting my time?

321199 2005-02-03 22:28:00 There is this place called digirama.co.nz were you aiming for something like that? Have a quick look around there to get a good idea on the set up, etc. sal (67)
