320800 2005-02-02 11:31:00 Its got me baffled.
I presume there is a logical explanation as to why its always right.

320801 2005-02-02 12:34:00 Two digit number eg.
16 = 1+6=7 so 16-7=9
19 = 1+9=10 so 19-10=9
This is how all the teens work, twenties, thirties etc have a similar pattern.

another eg.
45 = 4+5=9 so 45-9=36
41 = 4+1=5 so 41-5=36

Look at all the pattern for the numbers 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72 and 81. note the nine times table.

320802 2005-02-02 18:13:00 I think it's a little less complicated than that. I chose 42, and it gave me the wrong answer. However, the next time I tried, I noticed that I hovered over the number I picked with my cursor, and it miraculously got it right. And the next time, and the next time. pixeldust (6619)
320803 2005-02-02 18:36:00 Everytime it refreshes you will notice that the icons change BUT every multiple of 9 is the same. The ball will always display whatever is on number 9, 18, 27, 36 etc etc. The formula that it asks you to do will always end up as a multiple of 9.
Very cleverly 99 and 90 are not the same as the other multiple of 9 but then the answer can never be 99 or 90 as you must always subtract from the product of the 2 digits.

It is nevertheless well done.
