641768 2008-02-18 21:54:00 On opening a PDF attachment my xp uses WORD as the default although I do have the acrobat reader installed, can any one guide me on how to change that please::help: pnbart (10961)
641769 2008-02-18 22:01:00 Hi pnbart,

Check your file associations - open 'My Computer', and select Folder Options from the Tools menu. From there, click the File Types tab, and scroll down the list until you find the PDF extension. If it's not set to open with Acrobat Reader, click the Change button, and browse to where your Acrobat is installed, and select that.

Let us know if that works

641770 2008-02-18 22:01:00 There are a few ways, probably the easiest is to reinstall Adobe Reader, which will re-set the file associations.

Otherwise... do that.^^^

641771 2008-02-18 22:08:00 I'd get rid of the hugely boggy adobe acrobat and install foxit reader (www.foxitsoftware.com) instead.
This should also take care of programe associations as well (so will not open in word but in foxit)

641773 2008-02-18 23:51:00 Right click the file you want to open, choose "open with..." from the list of recommended programs choose Adobe Reader and Check "Always use the selected program to open this type of file"

You can change any association like that to correct it.
