641316 2008-02-18 00:09:00 Hi,

Which web browser is the best IE 7 or Mozilla Firefox? Mostly I am concern
security wise. But also want to know other advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks,

641317 2008-02-18 00:11:00 Security wise FF blows IE away.

With customization, FF nukes IE, it is impossible to compare the two.

FF all the way.

It has almost unlimited potential with add-ons, you can install ad-blocking software, script blocking and editing tools, different skins, the list goes on and on.

Firefox uses slightly more system resources...but with most PCs these days it's inconsequential. I find FF faster than IE.

641318 2008-02-18 00:13:00 Most people would say firefox, but IE 7 is ok for some people.

IE 7 also uses addons / plugins, but some arent free, most of firefox's are.

Depends if youre paranoid about using IE 7 or not.

I find Firefox, is a bit of a memory hog. And some sites dont work properly with FF either.

They look crap.

Just dont use P2P programs, or download / install malware.

Things might last longer.

Its not the browser/s that are the security risk, its the person who doesnt know what theyre installing most of the time.

641320 2008-02-18 01:16:00 I use both. IE 7 is my default browser. As Speedy said some sites don't work properly with FF and the same with IE7, so if I have a problem with one browser at a paticular site I switch over to the other. If you go to a site to view pictures I find that FF loads them alot slower than IE7, so take your pick or like me run both.

641324 2008-02-18 02:22:00 A foot in both camps for me (well. . .professionally at least!) - majority of my users are on Server 2003 via Terminal Services, and as far as I know, FF won't run that way. The majority of our thick client users are going to FF tho ;)

Personally, the only time I use IE7 is for Windows updates.

Having said all that, IE7 is better than 6. A little OTT with it's security settings, but not too bad. :)

End of story.
