641764 2008-02-21 05:32:00 did you verify your computer maybe you have installed on it some shut down - start up programs like lomsel shutdown (www.softspecialist.com) or amp win off (www.softspecialist.com) and you don't even know. This would explain at least part of your computer's behavior.
So these would show up in start run control panel?

641765 2008-02-21 05:33:00 You could have some prankware installed or have caught from somewhere, like this: www.ocforums.com .
Would advise doing a thorough antivirus and malware scan in safe mode.
Could also be a hardware fault, PSU, loose power cable etc; perhaps not as you say it goes thru the shutdown procedure, but this could reinforce the prankware thought.
Restarting after shutting off could be 'Auto-restart after power failure' setting in bios ;)
Sticky/faulty on/off button??

BIOS POWER BACK was set to ON. It is no as before. As stated the computer was off and a power cut wouldn't iniate a shut down as I have no UPS installed.
