1423939 2016-08-02 04:22:00 Hi All

I have typed a letter in Open Office Writer & Emailed it to my daughter. If I had wanted to use PDF could I have done that After typing & saving the document in OE. Thanks. PJ

Yes. Google "Open Office export to PDF" and you get this explanation....... Your need to tell it where to save so that you can find it again when you want to ATTACH it to your email.
1. Quick export to PDF
Click the Export Directly as PDF icon to export the entire document using your default PDF settings. You are asked to enter the file name and location for the PDF file, but you do not get a chance to choose a page range, the image compression, or other options.
2. Controlling PDF content and quality For more control over the content and quality of the resulting PDF, use File > Export as PDF. The PDF Options dialog opens. This dialog has five pages (General, Initial View, User Interface, Links, and Security). Make your selections, and then click "Export". Then you are asked to enter the location and file name of the PDF to be created, and click Save to export the file.

1423942 2016-08-02 10:41:00 PJ, sorry about that. I missed the OE reference.
If you have the letter all typed up in OE then you can block copy from there to Open Office. At the first word hold down shift key and use right arrow to copy all to the end of your letter. Then Control key + C to copy that block of text into Open Office. Then use the Open Office command to "save as" PDF.
