1423867 2016-07-31 03:06:00 I have been trying to find out why this is. The files in question are PSD (Adobe and multi- layers from Photoshop) On my Western Digital external - no problem whatsoever. However when I try copying to my Seagate there is a problem. It gets copying then stops as soon as it gets, it seems, to anything bigger than 100 Mgs ( a recent example is one of 176Mgs). I have use Speccy to check on the Seagate external drive and it tells me "931GB Seagate Expansion SCSI Disk Device (USB (SATA))"

Now I am not all that up on computer speak, however on reading on the web it may be that the problem is FAT32 ? (or FAT something). The Seagate is only a couple of years old so has probably a pretty up-to-date file system. When I used to back up using Photoshop Elements using the same disc I had no problems, regardless of the file size. Maybe Photoshop Elements talks in a way that gets around the problem.

Any ideas on where I could go from here please ?

1423868 2016-07-31 03:40:00 Well, I have done further research and find that FAT32 can handle up to 4 Gig size, so that is not the problem. I wonder what is ? Misty (368)
1423869 2016-08-01 06:18:00 All fixed. I tried the drive today and it suggested a scan and perhaps repair. After a scan it suggested a repair. The repair took about 10 seconds. Have done the backup with no problems. Misty (368)
