1423845 2016-07-30 02:57:00 Just trying Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon on a system here.
Anyone know how to control the power management for the keyboard & mouse.
I normally disable them to prevent a certain moggy from using the systems during the night.

Must be a hard one.

1423847 2016-07-31 02:07:00 I haven't upgraded to Mint 18 yet so not sure what has changed.

I am also wondering what state (hibernate/suspend/powered off) the computer is in that you are saying that a certain moggy can wake it from.

I don't use this feature but I know it can appear in the BIOS as a wake on feature.

I will test mint 18 out shortly though.

1423849 2016-07-31 04:13:00 I only changed from 17 so wasn't a big leap.
This motherboard seems to be happy with the sleep/suspend setting on.
I like using it as it starts quicker & goes to sleep if I leave it on.
The only reference to S3 in the BIOS is wakeup on lan or not.
Its easy enough to disable the wakeup on keyboard & mouse in windows, so must be a way to do it on mint.
I would most likely get more response if I posted this on the Linux forums.
But having sort help there before, usually get a extremely complicated solution.

1423850 2016-08-03 08:56:00 Keyboard uses such a tiny trickle of power... so it's not a big target for power management schemes.
Honestly, it's like turning off your wristwatch overnight. Sure, it saves energy, but is it worth it?

Your moggy reasons however are justified.

May be better to look at the 'Wake' options in the BIOS and disable keyboard or USB events.
