2016-07-27 00:26:00 | Hi There Win10 firewall wont start. The service wont start, the MS Fixit didnt fixit. Im pretty sure it was broken by a manufacturers preloaded Mcafee . McAfee was long ago removed, but I see it leftover folders Ive previously come across Mcaffe leaving MS Firewall broken when McAfee is removed , but I cant remember how I fixed it . Any suggestions appreciated, google just gives fixes that dont work & the usual red herrings :)

2016-07-27 00:45:00 | Exact same problem as you mentioned listed several places. Found one possible fix ? Last reply in This Thread on MS site (answers.microsoft.com). Personally I normally run their removal tool, THEN open Ccleaner and do a reg scan, often that picks up other entries as well, simply delete the lot. :2cents:

Make sure that the mpsdrv.sys file exists in the %WinDir%\System32\drivers folder. If this file is missing you can try to restore it from your Windows 10 installation media". |

2016-07-27 01:19:00 | mpsdrv.sys : yes its there ccleaner regfix : didnt help sfc didnt help At the mo, Im just trying suggested fix after suggested fix: non work. I'll try comparing reg entries on a working 10 PC , clutching at straws now.. The crazy thing is, some Win10 Winupdates will not install if Win firewall isnt running (yep, thats a real issue). Thats how I discovered the fw issue .

2016-07-27 22:32:00 | Run the Mcafee removal tool and remove the rest of it Tried that. I'm finding other Win system issues as I get further into it, so it needs a full reload. And possibly a new HD (scandsk /r wouldnt finish) And this morning :1st wouldnt load win "something happened" error , then hardware fault : wont turn on after spitting the dummy earlier . Just lovely :badpc:
