1423258 2016-07-20 23:29:00 Hello evryone and thank you for your help,

Well i tried to contact HP but the fricking page sucks, it has a process where you identify the product and then they allow you to contact them through mail for example but i can't seem to get it work, could it work if i tried contacting microsoft?

1423259 2016-07-21 00:24:00 Contacting HP or Microsoft often wont do any good at all. If you wanted the COA to work it may need to be installed and activated first. As mentioned previously sometimes it wont activate if its the Manufactures COA, so you need to call MS during that installing/activation options and then the keys active, but its a different set of digits Microsoft will ask for, 48 in total, all numerical so the actual product key wont be much use. wainuitech (129)

1423262 2016-07-23 05:38:00 If you don't want to upgrade right now I would grab an old HDD and chuck it in the machine and do a fresh install of Windows 10 and activate it using your Windows 7 / 8 key from the COA sticker on the case.

I did that very thing on my Toshiba Satellite laptop, which has W7 Pro on it, a clean install of W10 Pro. But it would not activate, and gave me various error codes (on various attempts) 0x803F7001, 0x80041023 etc.

I'm still researching the problem!

Sorted it out with the information from tenforums, using the procedure with gatherosstate. Activated now.

1423264 2016-07-25 03:37:00 I did a lot of pre reading -this forum comments included. Finally I created an ISO File and ran Setup from that. I selected the Keep System and Personal Settings option just to avoid having to download MS Office 365 again .I selected a few Custom Options -chiefly Privacy - on the way through. So far so good. I now am going through the familiarisation and personal customisation process which I would be doing with any later system. I'm a bit confused about Edge seemingly opening Internet Explorer but will continue with articles/Help etc. to gain fuller understanding of my present "puzzles".
Overall I'm pleased
