1420954 2016-05-29 03:35:00 Bloody FF has now taken over how I view a new tab when I click on it.

How do I get back to a blank page, or just Google search?

1420956 2016-05-29 04:22:00 Speaking of Search engines, has anyone tried the Chinese "Baidu"? It is brilliant, gets all my websites on page one, unlike Google which has to be submitted to. mzee (3324)
1420957 2016-05-29 04:34:00 Windows 10/Defender causes some software to take ages to launch because for some unknown reason it tries to scan the file before loading it, the CPU loading goes up to 48%. You can overcome this by exempting the folder containing the slow loading file in Defender. One of my programs Web Realizer would take over a minute to load, now takes a few seconds. Another slow one was Foxit reader 7. I don't use FF so I don't know if it is effected by Defender. I have now disabled Defender and installed Avira. mzee (3324)

Been there - done that, but where is the option for a new tab.

When I open a new tab, I get a Yahoo search page with a background image :(

Chrome overtook FF in May 2012 (you will have to wait for a minute or two for the graph to load)

Thanks for that.

I'm trying to think what I was doing in May 2012.

1420962 2016-06-02 06:22:00 For the last decade plus I have found Firefox supreme ! Does what I want. I sometimes post links to other people who may be interested and find Chrome very deficient. Nevertheless all browsers have their use. When I have read my allowed 10 articles a month of the New York Times, I switch to Internet Explorer or Edge, then after ten more, switch to Chrome, then after ten more switch to Duckduckgo ......... ain't life on the web grand !!! ;-) Misty (368)
