Unfortunately that's what happens when you live here. That is also why I picked up my 15" MacBook Pro in San Francisco back March for about $700 cheaper than I could have purchased it here. :) The prices are reasonably comparable once you factor in GST and the fact NZ retailers are forced to include an extended warranty to consumers with the consumer guarantees act. |

Trust me, they are not that comparable even with GST factored in. I did an online conversion when I was in San Fran back in March so that I could show my wife what the price difference was just before I bought my new MBP. There has been a considerable price variation between Macs in the US and Macs in NZ for the last 15-20 years - (when you do a direct exchange rate comparison). |
